Hello and welcome to Västerås and WFC2009. We hope you will enjoy your stay and that we will get an exciting championship. We who work in the media center are here for you and will try to give you the service you need to do a good job. As usual at a championship, there are some rules that everyone must follow to make our work flow as easy and smooth as possible.
Anyone who has media accreditation must wear it clearly visible when they are in the arenas. In all halls there are places in the stands reserved only for media. The accreditation also gives you the right to free parking. Show the accreditation for parking attendants. There are no special parking places for the media.
In both Bombardier Arena and ABB Arena we have wireless internet at the press stand and in the media center. There is no need for password to login. The network is accessible to all.
We will not arrange any press conferences after the games. Instead players and journalists can come together in the mixed zone immediately after each match. It is important for you, as a journalist, to go to the mixed zone after the final whistle, while both teams are pass through the mixed zone on their way to the locker room. NOTE! You are only allowed to talk to the players after the match and not during breaks or before the match. The exception is radio and television which broadcast live.
All photographers who work on the floor must wear both accreditation and photo vest. These vests are distributed in the media center and must be returned after each working day. Journalists, who are not wearing photo vests, will not have access to the floor or in the field of play.
We will continuously update our website with facts and details from playing matches and everything else important that happens during the championship, so take the habit of visit www.wfc2009.se every now and then.
